Epcot opened on October 1, 1982 and is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. Walt Disney World is rolling out special merchandise, food, and events to mark the occasion.
Merchandise
Disney is throwing back to classic Epcot colors with a collection of merchandise for the 35th anniversary. You won’t find Disney characters here, with the exception of the lovable Figment from Journey Into Imagination. Spaceship Earth is featured prominently, which makes sense as it’s one of the most identifiable park structures in the world. With everything from shirts to bags to key chains and even a special Magic Band, you are sure to find something you’ll like to commemorate this special event.

If you are fortunate enough to be at Epcot on October 1, keep you eyes open for pop-up shops that will be selling “I Was There” merchandise only available at the parks.
Pins
Several limited edition pins will be available to celebrate Epcot’s 35th anniversary. Some are already available while others won’t be released until October 1.
Food
Disney loves to release special edition cupcakes to celebrate big events, and the 35th anniversary is no exception. There are three new cupcakes to be on the lookout for.
- Spaceship Earth Cupcake: available at Fountain View (AKA Starbucks).
- Flower Pot Cupcake: available at Sunshine Seasons in The Land.
- Viking Cupcake: available at Kringla Bakeri Og Café in the Norway pavilion.

Celebrations
On October 1 at 10:01 am, a special celebration featuring Voices of Liberty and Mariachi Cobre will take place at the Fountain View stage.
End your day with Epcot’s Illuminations fireworks show, enhanced with a special finale.
If anyone will be in Epcot and wants to send me a Spaceship Earth cupcake, let me know!
